DESCRIPTION:KIT Water Music präsentiert: \nODD OKODDO (Altin Village & Mine\, Nairobi) \nEintritt Indoor 10\,-\, nur AKHailing from Kenya\, the duo of Sven Kacirek and Olith Ratego works with a spellbinding blend of avantgarde electronic rhythms and contemporary folk tradition of the Kenyan Luo people. The result is what singer and instrument builder Olith Ratego calls „dodo blues“. With the newly released album „Negore“ (out on Altin Village & Mine in May 2024)\, which was highly acclaimed by NPR\, BBC Radio and featured on both Bandcamp Daily & Weekly\, they broaden their contemplative universe with ten new compositions ranging from introspective to dynamic\, but always sounding like ODD OKODDO: Their songs feel like the two musicians are floating in resonance. Sven Kacirek carefully amplifies Olith’s lyrical compositions by creating a rich sonic world to dive into\, while Olith’s lyrics deal with subjects such as love\, destiny\, and perseverance. Ihr musikalischer Ausdruck ist mächtig energiegeladen und temperamentvoll\, bis hin zu verspielt und humorvoll\, weiblich und stolz. Wenn die Akkordeonspielerin ihr Instrument anstimmt\, träumen wir sofort in endlose Weiten. Aber wenn nach acht Takten dazu der Synthie anhebt\, fühlen wir uns augenblicklich in das subversive Lebensgefühl der Großstadt versetzt. Die Band Iva Nova wurde 2002 in Sankt Petersburg gegründet\, brachte 2004 ihr erstes Album heraus und startete damit sofort eine beispielhafte Livekarriere im In- und Ausland. Seit dem touren die vier sympathischen Musikerinnen jedes Jahr durch etliche Clubs und Festivals in der ganzen Welt mit ihrer unverwechselbaren und packenden Manier. Im Dezember 2024 veröffentlichten Iva Nova ihr neues Album ‚Mnogonastut‘\, und ließen sich für die zehn frischen Songs wieder von den musikalischen Traditionen ihrer Heimat inspirieren. Aber zugleich bewegen sie sich kreativ in alle erdenklichen Stilrichtungen\, sodass auf ihren Liveshows zwischen gefühlvollen Songs und kraftvollem Punkrock alles möglich ist.
