DESCRIPTION:KIT Water Music präsentiert \nAritmija feat. Sabiha Khan & Vinayak Netke (India\, Slovenia) \nAritmija feat. Sabiha Khan & Vinayak Netke is an international music project which started out as a single\, one-time concert collaboration in the summer of 2016. The Slovenian guitar duo Aritmija invited two exquisite musicians from Mumbai\, India\, vocalist Sabiha Khan and virtuoso tabla player Vinayak Netke to perform together at the concert in Ljubljana\, Slovenia. The initial collaboration exceeded the expectations of their first music encounter and turned out to be very successful\, exciting and musically very fulfilling\, so the musicians decided to continue their joint venture. Since 2016 the international project has performed more than 80 concerts in India and Europe. This unique world-music project creates a powerful musical blend by combining influences from various music genres such as Balkan ethno music\, rock\, jazz\, flamenco\, classical music and rich heritage of Indian classical and traditional music into their original compositions. \nIn the past 8 years the international project has completed 4 short tours of India and 5 European tours (Switzerland\, Austria\, France\, Italy and Slovenia). During the 2017 European summer tour the project recorded their first live CD comprised mostly of band members’ original compositions. In 2018 the four musicians also teamed with the Slovenian painter Breda Sturm creating and presenting a transdisciplinary Morse-Art Project which explores the use of Morse code in music and visual arts. \nAritmija is based on a guitar duo\, formed in 2002 by two guitarists\, composers\, multi- instrumentalists and guitar teachers Tilen Stepišnik and Šemsudin Dino Džopa\, from Ljubljana\, Slovenia. In the last 22 years Aritmija has performed over 700 concerts in Slovenia and abroad (Switzerland\, Germany\, France\, Italy\, UK\, Austria\, India\, Uzbekistan) and released 4 CDs. The best style to describe the music of Aritmija would be world-music\, a mix of traditional music from the Balkan region\, rock\, jazz and flamenco\, which they skillfully combine in their own compositions. In the summer of 2016 Aritmija started a new collaboration with exquisite musicians from Mumbai\, India\, vocalist Sabiha Khan and tabla player Vinayak Netke. \nSabiha Khan is a versatile vocalist from India\, who has devoted twenty years to the practice of traditional and classical Indian vocals. Khan has performed on world-music festivals\, conducted workshops and recorded music for films\, documentary films and advertisements. \nVinayak Netke is a virtuoso on the Indian percussion tabla and a versatile composer. He has performed with renowned musicians\, on stages from Japan to Europe\, notably with the French guitarist Titi Robin\, violinist Dr. L.
