DESCRIPTION:KIT Water Music präsentiert: \nODD OKODDO (Altin Village & Mine\, Nairobi) \nEintritt Indoor 10\,-\, nur AKHailing from Kenya\, the duo of Sven Kacirek and Olith Ratego works with a spellbinding blend of avantgarde electronic rhythms and contemporary folk tradition of the Kenyan Luo people. The result is what singer and instrument builder Olith Ratego calls „dodo blues“. With the newly released album „Negore“ (out on Altin Village & Mine in May 2024)\, which was highly acclaimed by NPR\, BBC Radio and featured on both Bandcamp Daily & Weekly\, they broaden their contemplative universe with ten new compositions ranging from introspective to dynamic\, but always sounding like ODD OKODDO: Their songs feel like the two musicians are floating in resonance. Sven Kacirek carefully amplifies Olith’s lyrical compositions by creating a rich sonic world to dive into\, while Olith’s lyrics deal with subjects such as love\, destiny\, and perseverance.
